PHILOSOPHY
A WAY OF UNDERSTANDING WINE BASED ON RESPECT FOR THE LAND, THE VINEYARD.
We believe the future of wine lies in protecting its origin. Resistance Viticulture was created to preserve the historic vineyards of our land, honour their identity and craft wines that faithfully express the landscape they come from.
It is built on ten principles that guide our work in the vineyard and in the winery.
01.
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Quality over quantity: quietly challenging the giants of the industry.
02.
GUARDIANS OF HERITAGE VINEYARDS
Enclaves of century-old bush vines and dry-farmed plots in La Mancha that have withstood the advance of mechanised viticulture.
03.
100% HAND-HARVESTED
Every cluster is picked by hand to preserve its quality from the very first moment.
04.
ORGANIC FARMING
Committed to organic farming; currently in conversion.
05.
SOIL AS IDENTITY
Each wine is shaped by the unique character of its soil; our vineyards thrive across a mosaic of sand, limestone and clay.

THE VINEYARD
Our wines come exclusively from our own vineyards in Tomelloso, where we grow vines on sandy, limestone and clay soils that bring unique personality and nuance to each wine.
We don’t work a single, uniform estate, but rather a mosaic of plots that form part of the viticultural heritage of our land. For generations, these soils have been recognised for their quality, though rarely given the value they deserve.
Today we are recovering that legacy, convinced that every plot has a story to tell and a different wine to offer.
WINEMAKING
Each harvest begins with close monitoring of the vineyard to determine the optimal moment of ripeness. Once in the winery, each wine is crafted to match the character we want to achieve.
The grapes may be fully or partially destemmed, depending on the wine being made. After a pre-fermentation maceration, the must ferments at low temperature to preserve the aromas typical of the original varieties, resulting in wines of great aromatic intensity and a silky texture on the palate.
When our winemakers judge that the time has come to leave the ageing room, the wines are bottled to continue maturing in our cellars, where they remain until reaching the perfect balance found in great wines.
